1994 Douglas MG TF

This is a Douglas MGTF kit car made in 1994. It’s a replica of the MG TF (1953-55) with a fibreglass body and bespoke steel chassis. They usually have the Triumph Herald as a base car but this one uses the Ford Escort 1300cc crossflow Kent engine.
Extensive work has been carried out by a previous owner with an awful lot spent on it. New parts include an alternator, distributer, Weber carb, fuel tank, radiator, seats, headlamps and stainless steel exhaust.
It starts, steers and stops but needs a bit of TLC before taking it for an MoT (the last one expired on 3-4-24). The folding hood, although serviceable, is not the best and could do with repairs (frame is fine). It has door windows and rear 1/ 4 panels that come in their own bag and they look unused.
There is a huge file of information regarding the build and lots of invoices. There is even a Douglas booklet in the file.
The Douglas Car Company Ltd was founded by Skip Pearson and Reg Talbot in the London borough of Barking in 1991 . The TF replica was designed by Derek Douglas.
The TF is correctly registered in my name and is SORN-ed, so will need to be trailered away.
The car can be inspected at my house, which is near Northampton, just three miles from M1 Junction 16.
