Description

We're selling this lovely little sports car at a low price because ill health is preventing me from doing the few jobs it needs. After taking it off the road for the winter it would not start. There is no fuel getting to the engine. I've got a new fuel pump relay on order. If it is a faulty pump it is accessible behind the drivers seat.
Prior to that it drove beautifully with a full MOT.
I was a vehicle mechanic so over the few years we have had it I have serviced and repaired it myself. It has a service history and had a new cambelt, tensioners and water pump shortly before we bought it. We've done less than 5000 miles in it.
This is an honest run down of outstanding jobs to do:
Replace fuel pump relay and check voltage at pump. Replace pump if necessary.
Repair tiny vacuum leak on the engine. Easy start spray indicates it is the pipe to the servo. It throws up a fault code after a few hundred miles.
Repair oil leak from the area of the vacuum pump/ engine breather system under the intake manifold. Replace any rubber/ plastic parts under there. (Parts Supplied). They tend it harden and crack with age.
Replace thermostat and housing. (Parts Supplied)
Replace offside lower ball joint rubber. (MOT repair ASAP. I've done the nearside one. (Part supplied)
Possibly replace the soft top ECU. It was water damaged. These ECU's are around £400 on ebay which is crazy money. I have disconnected the hydraulic cylinders so that the top can be opened and closed manually. The wind deflector, door drop and remote central locking works.
Replace the All Wheel Drive control module above the rear axle. Fault code 65535. I can't even tell that it's not engaging. Used modules are around £90.
Possibly repair the alarm system. I removed the horn/ battery unit because it was faulty and drained the battery.
Top up the AC gas for summer.
Finish paintwork. I've removed/ treated any rust but didn't apply a final top coat/ lacquer to the bonnet and wings. The pictures don't do the car justice. I've de=rusted and waxoiled the whole of the underneath and inner panels and doors.
I overhauled the brakes last year. New discs and pads and pistons and seals at the front. New pads, pistons and seals at the rear. Calipers painted.
I also prepped and repainted the wheels.
The tyres have lots of tread left.
The interior is in really good condition. It had new carpets a few years ago and the leather seats look hardly worn.
It has a fancy audio head unit that does phones etc.
If you're looking at this advert you probably know how well these cars drive. Audi did a great job.
This car would be a relatively easy project for anyone that can handle spanners. I have been as honest as I can with the faults and jobs required. The car comes with various spares and a Haynes Workshop manual.
The car is SORNed and the fuel pump issue means it can't be driven. The Audi TT mark one was a game changer when it was released. Top quality mechanicals, class best handling (once they fitted a boot spoiler) and award winning design. These cars are an absolute joy to drive. There's no harshness or uncomfortable ride as in most other makes.
