Description
Meet Minnie, my C15 Romahome, now for sale due to semi-static caravan purchase.
1996 Citroen C15 Romahome Hytop 1. 8d (XUD7 engine), habitation pod coachbuilt in double skinned marine grade GRP by Island Plastics. MOT to 20 June 25.
2 berth (for normal sized people), with near/ offside bench seats being 2 singles or converting to a full width double. Also features a galley at the rear with a sink (electrically pumped cold water, 24l onboard tank) and storage on the nearside and double hob and grill over a 28l 12/ 240v cool box replacing the defunct original 3 way fridge.
Large luton storage area over the cab with a 3kw inverter fitted and a 700w microwave oven (along with my patio chair cushions which make the bed a lot more comfortable).
Storage cupboard above the hob, storage under both side benches, comes with a 120ah leisure battery with split charger, 2 hook up cables, gas canister with some left in, an unused portaloo and 20l waste water tank.
Also included are the Maypole 4 layer winter cover and the Outdoor Revolution Cayman Pursuit awning shown in the pics.
There is a long list of enhancements made during my ownership, the major ones being; in the pod; new front skylight, new seat bases, new carpet and curtains, new led internal lights, bottom rear door replaced. Running gear; replacement OE wheels and new 8 ply van tyres, new battery, new full exhaust, all engine filters/ oil replaced.
I have some spares to include also, Gates full cambelt/ waterpump kit, new power steering pump plus belt and vacuum pump belt, full set of engine filters for next service and 10l antifreeze.
I bought her last May in Cornwall, drove 300+ miles home and she didn't miss a beat. It's been the same over the 1000 miles and 6 trips away since, I'd happily jump in and drive her anywhere.
She won't win any beauty contests though, cab paintwork not the best, but she'll take you anywhere you want to go...
Winter bargain at £3850 ono. Accommodation for two normal sized people (awning gives more flexible space), or one larger human like me.
I like it because it's old school, no electronic control, no turbo just an XUD7 which imo is possibly the best diesel engine ever put in a vehicle, and it only occupies the same space as a car on your drive (albeit a bit taller).
