Very early production 260z which had the lighter 240z bodyshell but with updated interior and larger engine
2. 6 engine factory rated at 160HP.

I imported this 260z 4 years ago (originally a south Carolina car) and have fixed it up into a very fun driver. its been on the road for 3+ years and I’ve done 5000+ miles in it
work carried out:
Every single bush has been replaced, with OEM rubber bushes on all the control arms - including the troublesome spindle pins. all anti rollbar end link/ tie rod ends/ compression rod bushes etc. Have been replaced, along with gearbox/ diff mounts. drives nicely with no knocking/ clunks
Suspension is height/ damping/ camber adjustable BC racing coilovers. these were custom ordered with slightly softer 3k/ 4k spring rates front/ rear for a more compliant (yet still firm) ride.
Brake system overhaul with reconditioned front callipers, rebuilt brake booster new EBC front discs/ pads.
Mechanically the car has been gone through to make it a reliable driver. new battery/ starter motor. new coil/ HT leads/ ignition system etc. new sump gasket, valve clearances adjusted, weber DGV carbs rebuilt. oil and filter changes every 3k miles/ year.
Cooling system overhaul with new water pump, hoses, thermostat, belt and coolant flush. Heater/ fan functions as it should.
Custom stainless exhaust done in the states - quite loud, but sounds nice.
Period 14x7 appliance mesh wheels with yokohama advan hf type d classic performance tyre. BRE front splitter
Interior has been sound deadened, with all new correct vinyl from z car source in Arizona(everything new except seats-cut in driver seat vinyl). faded interior plastics recoloured to match and new carpets/ mats. all door/ window rubber seals replaced.
Retrosound head unit with 4 speaker set up - kick panels and boot box(upholstered in matching vinyl) with focal speakers. working electric ariel with DAB splitter. FM/ DAB/ Bluetooth all work great.
The underside has been completely gone through with new floor pans and any rust repaired properly. Undersealed/ cavity wax applied. Zero rust underneath.
The paint, while a lovely colour and looks great in photos, is not good. It was painted in the states a slightly darker shade than its original emerald green, and it was not done well. Plenty of little dings and imperfections. I've loved the slightly rat look, but don't expect great paint. Rust on rear valance behind the bumper - will need replacing if/ when painting.
