Description
This is now a very rare car 1989 Jade Green small bumper 3door Golf GTI 16 valve with super rare factory fitted full leather interior.
It also has full history and just 3 owners from new. It runs and drives and needs no structural welding.
It was a factory order car for a Surgeon living in Edinburgh through VAG main UK dealer. He owned the car for 7. 5 years covering 56000 miles and it was main dealer serviced and MOTed all that time all receipts and service book with the car.
He then sold it to a Doctor friend also living in Edinburgh. He kept the car for a further 6 years also servicing and MOTing the car with the dealer. Covering a further 48000 miles.
He then sold the car to his young nephew in 2002 who ran the car as his daily transport for a further 5 years covering a further 40000 miles keeping it MOTed and all receipts but no service stamps as he did this himself. He then stopped using the car for 3 years and made one two modifications ( as young men do) big bumper conversion modern lights and big wide wheels. He then used the car from 2010 to 2014 covering 5000 miles.
House purchase and work kept the car in dry storage until I bought the car in 2019.
I bought the car for the leather interior to fit into my Jade green GTI but when I looked at the history file there was no way I was going to do that, so I have slowly removed much of the boy racer stuff and have stared to refit factory bits. I sent it away to have all structural welding professionally undertaken. There wasn’t too much, just the top of inner front wings and both sills.
The rear wheel arches need repair as they were flared to fit BIG wheels and the lower rear valence needs replacing. I bought new front wings and had the drivers seat lower bolster re trimmed in leather.
The first owner did not like the factory alloys he ordered so had G60/ Corrado alloys fitted by the supplying dealer when it was new.
I agree with him and sourced a replacement set as the boy racer wheels were nasty.
I just don’t have the time to deal with finishing it and it really deserves to be back on the road
It will need recommissioning as it hasn’t been MOTed for 12 years but it starts runs and drives fine.
The front wings and bumpers are resting in place it needs small bumpers and trims sourcing probably a repaint but the panels and shell are fine. as you can see the plastic trims are not refitted so you can inspect the structure.
The headlining and rear parcel shelf are fine and undamaged.
he car has covered 157537 miles.
I have not registered the V5 to me but the V5 is with the history file showing 2 previous owners. T
I know the family that have owned the car for over 20 years and they would love to see the car back to factory spec and on the road.
The car is in dry storage with lighting so can be viewed after dark if required.
I can also arrange delivery in covered transport.
I’m not giving this car away and I don’t have to sell so no silly offers I’m afraid.
Because I’m a car nut a part ex is a remote possibility but I would rather not
