Description
Selling my 1985 Honda due to not using it very much , Originally this was a Hampshire Constabulary Police bike , It was stationed at Fareham Hampshire as a spare bike(Hampshire fleet number 67) . When I purchased it in 2018 it was stripped of all police parts as it made it to heavy and to large to go into my shed , When I purchased it it had roughly 38000 miles on the clock , so as you see I have only done 4000 miles in 6 years . 2017 it had 36912 miles at MOT.
The bike runs well , has a few marks as to be expected for a bike of this age , I dont think it has ever been messed with as it still has its original exhausts on it (they are a bit rusty on the insides , but still solid ) The front forks shields are a different colour than the tank having been powder coated in chrome ,
For a bike of this age is goes well , is very reliable and has never let me down .
The wheels have surface rust on them but they are very solid , tyres are good ,
Engine uses no oil , I have changed it every 1000 miles which is the same as the Police force used to do .
I have fitted new chain and sprocket not long ago .
It only has the top part of the chain guard on it as the bottom rusted out .
The rear mudguard has a small patch of rust under the rear rack , but hardly noticeable unless you look directly at it , The front mudguard is good with good chrome .
It comes with an MOT that I had done this morning , running out on the 31st January 2026 .
I have a work-shop manual to go with the bike and a few spare parts .
The V5 is in my name and present in my house .
there are a number of old MOT certificates , and receipts for tyres , tubes and bearings fitted in 2018 at South Coast Honda in West Sussex. All in all this a sound original bike and a joy to ride around the New Forest and surrounding area where I live .
This would make a great bike for some-one like me in latter years for things like VMCC runs for smaller bikes . Some riders of my age suffer with bad knees through kicking the older big British bikes that most of us had when we were able to start them , This bike has both kick start and electric start , makes life easier at least for me .
The route roller will be taken of prior to the sale as will the top box base , The top box again is in good condition and if the buyer agrees to wanting it , it can go with the bike . I bought it as I wanted some-thing with electric start ,
There are no so many of these about now and at bike nights in the area it draws alot of attention .
What I like about it is its very reliable , has electric and kick start and I like originality and the history of the bike .
