Description
Porsche 944 Lux from 1985. There have been just three previous owners, and I, as the fourth owner, have had the car since 2007 – nearly 18 years!
This car has been a big part of my life, taking me on countless adventures and bringing immense joy over the years. It has always been much loved and cared for, maintained at great expense by Tower Porsche in London. I have an extensive history of bills, MOTs, receipts, and paperwork covering my ownership, along with records from previous owners going back to the very start.
The car is in good working order and runs, with 87, 852 miles from new. The engine is solid and very strong, performing reliably with plenty of power. It drives and handles superbly, pulling strongly, and the gearbox feels great with no rattles.
The interior is in good condition, with upholstery that’s impressive for its age. There’s some peeling on the steering wheel, and a few cracks on the dash, but overall, the cabin feels comfortable and well-kept.
The car’s paint is original, and while it has some signs of wear – most notably, peeling on the bonnet and light patches exposing a bit of rust – it retains its charm and originality.
This car is coming up to 40 years old and will soon be classed as a historic vehicle, meaning it won’t require an MOT or road tax. It will also be ULEZ exempt. However, it recently failed its MOT due to a leak in the fuel tank where the straps have rubbed and needing a replacement rear offside light.
Despite these issues, the heater not working, and a few marks here and there for its age, the car remains in lovely condition overall. The underside has recently received welding and rust treatment, so it’s solid underneath. I washed the car for the photos so any water is due to run off.
The car also comes with the spare wheel in unused condition, along with the jack and original tools.
This is a reluctant sale, as I no longer have a garage to keep it in, and it doesn’t get the use it deserves. It is a solid car, and it’s time to find it a new home with someone who can give it the time and love I no longer can.
