Description
This is a structurally sound car with a smooth running engine, but it needs attention to the bodywork and also a new roof. However, underneath is solid. The vehicle is a German-built 1979 Karmann Cabriolet, first registered in the UK in 1990 and owned by me since 2003. The interior is now getting a little scruffy and there is also a non-standard steering wheel and gear stick knob, but everything else is original as far as I can tell. The glove box requires a new catch and indicator switches and horn need an overhaul as their operation is erratic. In summary, this is a fantastic car, just in need of a some restoration. You can either enjoy driving the car (in the dry) straight away or spend about ten grand and end up with a twenty grand car! So why aren't I doing that? Because I have given the car a lot of love, but sadly not much recently, so now its time for someone else to enjoy the ride. When we had young kids we'd all drive her to the beach together as a family, often with the kids standing on the back seat! The car never failed to raise a wave from other road users and a flash of the headlights - people love seeing her out on the road loaded with a happy family. Sadly our children have now flown the nest and it is time for somebody else to enjoy the fun.
