Description
It is with great reluctance that I am offering my 1967 6/ 110 Mk. 2 for sale. Beautifully presented in the attractive duo tone Rose Taupe/ Sandy Beige so typical of its era, the car spent many years as part of a private collection. The three litre Farinas were the flagships of the BMC range and are finished to a suitable standard, with sumptuous leather upholstery and extensive use of polished wood. This car is the manual version with 4 speed gearbox/ overdrive, and also benefits from power steering and servo assisted brakes (front discs). The previous owner paid £10k for the car at auction 4 years ago. He wasn't entirely happy with it when driving it home and proceeded to have the engine, gearbox, carbs etc. fully rebuilt. In the last 6 months, I have installed a new dynamo and proper SU fuel pump (it had a pattern one). The car does, therefore, drive as it should, maintaining a constant 50psi oil pressure. The real beauty of the car is the structure. There were a couple of areas where the paint had been 'polished through'. I had these professionally repainted and the body is 100% straight, with no dents, dings, bubbles, filler, or any evidence whatsoever of rust/ corrosion. The underside is equally clean, being undersealed with no evidence of past welding. The registration number is not original (it was a 1957 Birmingham issue), but is obviously well suited to the car and will be included in the sale. Any trial or inspection welcomed.
