For sale is my much loved W123 200 acquired in March 2021 that I used to daily for a period before moving outside of the city and having children. For the last year it's sat unused in my garage (with handbrake off). Despite appearance it is not without fault and I will be as transparent as possible. This is priced to sell with everything detailed below in mind.
I have had more admiring looks and enjoyable conversations in this than any sports car I've owned.
As you can see from the photos it's in pretty reasonable condition! The interior has survived remarkably well and this is before cleaning. Always run on premium fuel, as all older cars should be and serviced regularly prior to storage.
Areas that may need attention:
Oil sump pan requires replacing as evidenced by the small patch of oil under it upon moving it outside of my garage. Granted the oil level is still fine and this is just over a year's worth of leakage. Clutch potentially needs looking at, bite point is very early in the pedal travel. Radio and heater blowers have never been working during my ownership but have never bothered to look into why. If parked downhill, it would often struggle to start up again. No issues parked level or uphill, no idea why but worth mentioning. I'll charge the battery but might be worth sticking a new one in given it's been sat standing not on any charger for a year.
I have, from when I bought it, a folder of photographs (see images) detailing a partial restoration the car underwent in 2018 after being salvaged due to commercial repair costs exceeding market value after an incident.
Other good bits are the fact this is now a historic car which means ULEZ exemption, MOT exemption, road tax exemption and rather affordable insurance.
I'd suggest this is best suited to an enthusiast, preferably local, who doesn't mind putting a little work in themselves or knows someone who can. If you are seriously interested, please give me a call and arrange a viewing before I get too attached again and decide to keep it.
