First the bad news. The car is registered a CAT "S" car.
Please see the photographs. Prior to buying the car it had been hit by something from height, I suspect a roof tile or part of a chimney going by the damage to the N/ S front wing. I bought the car with a 7/ 8 cm dent on the passenger side windscreen pillar and although cosmetic and was a simple repair, this is classed as structural damage and put the car into CAT "S". The windscreen was smashed, wing dented and bonnet scratched in the same incident. See insurance assessors report.

The previous owner had very recently replaced all the hard brake pipes and put 4 new tyres on the car. (Still 6. 5/ 7mm tread).
The car is M. O. T'd until December 2025.
Work I have carried out;
Full engine service, Air, Oil, Fuel and Pollen filters. Engine oil change, Gear box oil change, Power steering fluid, coolant and brake flued change.
All brake flexi pipes replaced. All 4 brake callipers and accessories replaced, new premium brake pads all round. Front struts, top strut mounts and front springs. 2 front drop links. Rear shock absorbers, rear springs and top spring washers. I removed the Nivometric self levelling system which were leaking and the car was listing, low on the O/ S. Tastefully lowered by 30mm now. 2 new handbrake cables. 2 Rear ABS Sensors replaced. ALL engine mounts replaced. 2 new rear axle Delta bushes (big job). New fuel filter carrier. New battery fitted.
New front wings are very hard to come by for the 850 unfortunately so I cut out the rust from the O/ S wing and refabricated the wing, I regret it is more noticeable (a slight dent above the bumper), than I would have liked. Very light rust starting in the usual place on N/ S wing. I repaired the damage to the N/ S wing so the car has ALL of its original factory panels and the majority of the car is the original paint also. The bonnet has major lacquer peel so I have put a graphic on. It polishes up really well BUT every panel has scratches and imperfections.

Overall the leather interior is good, a few punctures but not on the main seats or bolsters. some of the plastic trims inside have slight chips, cracks and imperfections with age, the headlining has very slight sagging to the rear. The carpets are very clean and show little wear.
ABSOLUTLEY EVERYTHING works on this car, the sunroof, with no leaks, central locking, head light wipers and washers, all 4 electric windows.
The sound system is the "Premium" system of the time, 6 CD changer in the boot also and sounds amazing. There is a strong service history and looking at the cars overall condition and the way it drives the previous owners (7) have taken good care of this example.
Its a 2. 4 N/ A 20V engine with 5 speed Manual.
It is NOT a show car.
I am a Volvo geek/ enthusiast and gave up my 2014 XC60 D5 to own this car. I used it through the winter, I have a MK1 C70 soft top for our Great British summer's (day).
NO time wasters please.
I may consider another VOLVO rescue project in part exchange pre 2000, must run.
