Description
This model was first exported to the USA and, like all export models, was fitted with two Stromberg carburettors which reduced its power to 170 bhp. When it returned to France, it was 'Europeanised' and returned to its full 265 bhp with the three SU carburettors.
Our model is in an excellent state of preservation after an almost total renovation, having had its last coat of paint in 2021. It is equipped with a 6-cylinder 4. 2L engine and a 4-speed manual gearbox. The mechanics are in excellent condition, as evidenced by the cleanliness of the engine compartment. The same is true of the original red bodywork and the black leather interior, some parts of which, such as the door and boot trims, have recently been redone. The engine bonnet and doors are almost perfectly aligned, indicating the good health and, above all, the smooth history of our model. The chassis is also in excellent condition, having been replaced on its return from the USA. The 'Eiffels Towers', emblematic parts of the chassis, look as good as new, so well maintained is our Jaguar. The current owner has recently had the brakes and ignition system overhauled, and the three SU carburettors are perfectly tuned, allowing the engine to start from a standing start and run smoothly. Its short gearbox is particularly precise and comfortable. This Jaguar has an almost complete history and its DRIRE and UTAC records dating from 2004 will enable you, if you wish, to register it as a collector's car. In addition to these two complete records, its current owner holds a large number of invoices and the maintenance booklet. This Jaguar is always safe and sound and is pampered by its owner, who is a total fan of legendary British models. Its attractive price, given its condition, makes it as affordable as it was in 1969 compared with the Porsches and Ferraris of the time.
