If you’ve ever driven an SC, 911, 964, 993, or 997, you’ll quickly appreciate why the 996 stands out. It’s faster, lighter, and better handling than its older siblings, yet still more engaging than the 997, 991, or 992. Forget the techno wizardry of newer models – the 996 offers a pure driving experience, exactly as it should be.
The 996 has undergone more scrutiny and analysis than any other 911 model, and because of this, we know exactly what to expect in terms of issues – and, more importantly, we already have preventative solutions available. With one of the largest aftermarket parts industries in the Porsche world, the 996 has every fix and upgrade covered, and even more options are on the way.
From a design perspective, the 996 has aged incredibly well. Its classic 911 lines have stood the test of time, and with the right enhancements, you can make it look more muscular or sleeker, all at a fraction of the cost compared to earlier and later models.
Best of all, the 996 is still relatively affordable. Its purchase price, service costs, and parts are currently at a sweet spot, but don’t expect that to last forever – now is the time to get in on this fantastic model.
Get it while you can. You won’t regret it.
