2009 Land Rover Discovery 3 L319 RARE 4.0 V6 Petrol Auto

Thank you for looking at my very rare to find, petrol 4. 0 V6 automatic Land Rover Discovery 3. Yes, you've read that correctly. It's not a 4. 2 V8, and it's not a 2. 7 TDV6. It's a 4. 0 V6 petrol.

This vehicle was a special order originally meant for Antigua, but was cancelled before it got to export and was subsequently sold in the UK.

It's believed to be one of, if not THE only petrol V6 in the UK, giving it massive rarity and provenance to keep for years to come. It has around 190bhp and for what it is, it makes subtle V6 noises and picks up at an adequate pace for what's required.

Because it was originally destined for Antigua, it has a very unique specification to cope with the smaller dealership network and parts availability in a more remote location across the globe. What this means in reality is, a large amount of the typical Discovery problem areas and common issues are not present here, let me explain:

- no air suspension issues - this one has normal spring suspension instead
- no standard 2. 7 TDV6 engine issues - this one has a more reliable 4. 0 V6
- no terrain response problems - this one has permanent 4wd with low range
- no leaky sunroof problems - this one doesn't have any glass in the roof at all.
- no techy climate control to go wrong - this one has single zone heater + air con, nice and simpe
- no electric seat problems - these chairs are manually adjusted

The vehicle benefits from a recent major service in August 2024 at a recommend Land Rover specialists, costing in the region of £1, 100 (invoice provided) and has covered less than 500 miles since. This included oil, filters, spark plugs, lower front arm, and a general health check to cover anything else it needed. It also comes with a stamped up service book (9 prev services) detailing the previous owners care for it too over the years.

It has a valid MOT until August 2025, plenty of time left so as not to worry yourself now. The speedo is showing KM from factory, and the MOT history shows a mixture of miles / km depending on how the MOT station at the time inputted the information.

It comes with 2 keys, V5 in my name and address, and is ready to go anywhere. It has a snorkel, and some nice original touches such as light protectors fitted, rubber floor mats, OEM radio. It has a detachable tow bar under the boot floor, I've never fitted it or towed with it, but it's there should you be interested. It has 5 seats, not 7. There are no rear seatbelts.

The 19 inch OEM alloys were recently refurbished, and have not been driven many miles since, so are still very shiny and free from any major curb damage. All 4 wheels have General Grabber all terrain tyres on with great levels of tread remaining.

It's been a great 2nd car for us, extremely handy being so large to move family, bikes, and anything else you can get into it around. We have another Land Rover and feel now is the time for this one to find a new home.

The vehicle has a few light blemishes around the bodywork but for it's age is in good cosmetic condition. The worst is the front bumper near the driver's side fog light area, there's a small blemish in the black plastic trim. There's also a crack in the windscreen which could be replaced at a relatively low cost under most people's insurance policy. It's not an MOT failure however. It has always started throughout winter, and drives great. It was disappointingly a cat N in 2020, this does not detract from the vehicle today.
