Description
BMW Z1 - Roadster, a convertible for enthusiasts and connoisseurs with a real family history in accident-free condition in the perfect colour combination black/ black: The car dates from the production date 21. 05. 1990 and is to this day a kind of "family property" with a total of 4 people. The car was owned for the first 10 years (1990-2010) by a German car dealer who ordered the car for DM 89, 000 as a new vehicle from BMW and drove approx. 500km per year with the "red" dealer number. In September 2000, he sold the vehicle to his relatives for DM 62, 000 with a mileage of only 5, 432 kilometres. The new owner registered the vehicle for the first time in Germany on 21 September 2000 and kept it in a dry garage until 05/ 2017 with only 26, 600 km on the clock. His nephew bought the vehicle for € 30, 000 and took it to Austria, where he paid € 5, 760 NOVA to the tax office for the purpose of registering the car. From this date onwards, the car was used for short tours in the Salzkammergut, but only in dry weather. Most recently, a major service was carried out at BMW Reichert at km 29166 (o5/ 2021) for € 2, 255. 37. However, as he used the car too little, I was finally able to purchase the vehicle from him in September 2023 with a mileage of 31700. I have now had a current valuation report drawn up (09/ 2024) which currently confirms a replacement value of € 63, 000 in class 2+ or € 68, 000 with a grade of 1. The vehicle has been preserved in a garage the entire time and has never been moved in the rain. The plastic bodywork can therefore be described as being in absolutely original condition "without cracks". Absolutely accident-free, only the bumper has been painted once. There is an A4 folder full of really all the documents from the beginning until today, as well as the original service booklet, operating instructions, MOT documents, all original keys are of course present. The Z1 has a very stable, fully galvanised chassis on which the plastic body is mounted. The 6-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of 2. 5 l produces 170 hp (125 kW); the 5-speed manual gearbox transmits the high power to the rear axle. HISTORY OF THE BMW Z 1 The BMW Z 1 sports car was only built by hand from 1989 to 1991 and was launched on the market in 6 colours, although fewer were built in black. BMW delivered a total of exactly 8000 Z1s, of which around 1000 vehicles still exist worldwide today. BMW Technik GmbH, a BMW subsidiary founded in 1985, was responsible for the planning and realisation of the project. Ulrich Bez and designer Harm Lagaay should be mentioned here by name. Between the beginning of 1989 and mid-1991, exactly 8000 Z1s were built in a limited series. Daily production initially totalled a maximum of six vehicles, with the price at launch amounting to DM 80, 000, rising later to DM 89, 000. The Z1 was hand-built, and the vehicle has features that are otherwise rarely found in series products:The doors do not contribute to the stability of the body and were retractable in the side sills so that it could be driven with the doors open. The engine is installed behind the front axle, which brings the weight distribution between the front and rear axles to the ideal ratio. (Today this is also called a front-mid engine.) The completely welded, otherwise finished chassis made of sheet steel was hot-dip galvanised in one piece. This extended the service life and increased the torsional rigidity by 25 % compared to a chassis made of non-galvanised or pre-galvanised sheet metal. Non-load-bearing body parts such as side panels, doors, sill panels, mudguards and bumpers are made of thermoplastic and bolted to the chassis. Flaps (front, soft top and tailgate) are made of GRP. The floor is made of fibre-reinforced sandwich material and is completely smooth from below. It is glued into the chassis and additionally bolted. The rear silencer has the shape of a wing profile. The (centre-point guided double wishbone) rear axle was redesigned and then adopted in the subsequent large-scale production of the E36 series.
