According to the original sales receipt on file, ‘DOA 437’ was sold new by Leslie Matthews & Co to Mr Edwin Round of the Bournbrook area of Birmingham.
The Austin was used and cherished by Mr Round until the mid 1950’s, when it was put into dry storage until when it emerged after discovery by his family in the early 2000’s. The car was then purchased from the family and subjected to a full recommission and repaint, but without sacrificing its originality.
Subject to much mechanical work and work to the electrical components since its repaint, the car has now been cherished by a total of four owners since new and is for sale to find its forever home!
