Description
Top of the range XJ with Daimler luxury features. Full Service History. 4 owners. Current owner 20 years. First owner a Lord and second owner a KBE. Kept in a dehumidified garage. Run regularly in dry weather from Spring to Autumn. Drives beautifully. Always kept in tip top condition. If any issue has risen it has been dealt with immediately. Also pre-emptive servicing, for example gearbox oil was changed after ten years and again after 20 years. Consequently gearchanges are smooth and kickdown precise on normal and sport modes. Waxoiled early in its life and checked regularly. Starts perfectly. Recently serviced and MOT advisories dealt with. Now has four new shock absorbers. All 8 coils changed recently. Engine has given no trouble. It is a May 2000 car so improvements had been made at this stage of the XJ production. Normally run on E5 fuel but it does run fine on E10 as well. All usual extras for a Daimler, heated seats front and back, electric seats with memory, electric sunroof, heated windscreen, Alpine stereo including 6 CD. Even the tape cassette working correctly. 2 keys and remotes plus the valet key. Queen Elizabeth II had two Daimler X308s for her own use. The Daimler has superior leather and lambswool rugs. The cognoscenti suggest that the normally aspirated engine is the one to have rather than the Super. MOT until July 2025. Every invoice is available to see for last twenty years showing that the car has not been expensive to maintain. 23 mpg is normal and I have had 28 mpg on a run to the Lake District with four adults and luggage travelling at speed limit thoughout. Autoglym used to maintain paintwork and leather.
