2021 Morgan Plus 8 GTR

The GTR special model is actually still based on the Plus 8 sports car built until 2018. The factory bought back nine unused original aluminum chassis from an old, canceled external project, which served as the basis for this special edition. Production of the Plus 8 GTR began in summer 2021. The first of the 9 cars completed was this specific car ordered and specifyied by me. Before the car was shipped to JB Sports Engineering for further modifications, it was used in the beginning of December 2021 as presentation vehicle by the Morgan Motor Company and is still to be found on Morgan Motor Company's Instagram and website. All other eight cars were handed over to buyers all over the world in 2022.
The Morgan Plus 8 GTR was to be raw, loud and low-slung. To achieve this, the designers were allowed to extensively modify the classic Plus 8 concept. The front gets a spoiler and an additional splitter as well as round additional headlights. The doors and wheel arches have been modified and visually based on the design known from the Aero GT. There are also modifications at the rear including defusers underneath. The Plus 8 GTR is also equipped with a hardtop with a ventilation shaft. The driver and front passenger sit on carbon sports seats with 4 point race harness and look out onto a freshly instrumented cockpit landscape with numerous GTR logos. The developers were inspired by the Plus 8 racing car from 1996, which competed in the GT series at the end of the 1990s and became known as "Big Blue" - the first Morgan ever with a bonded chassis. This car is the only one getting this close to the real "Big Blue" The rear spoiler and roll bars indside the car was produced specially for this Morgan by racing specialist - JB Sports Engineering in UK. The rear spoiler is easily detachable by removing two pins.
The BMW N62 engine is producing 375 Bhp due to the sports exhaust system. The 6 speed automatic gearbox is preforming faster than you can manage with a manual. Further more, you can use the paddle shift, if you prefer shifting yourself.
This car comes with at MOT allowing you to register the car in any European country. This very rare and special car was purchased to be driven by me and exhibited in my Morgan Museum - The Morgan Garage, situated in Denmark.
It has been admired by many guests over the years, and will be loved by many more people as long as it stays in the collection, among the other rare Morgan's exhibited in the museum.
