Description
The car was originally supplied to Botswana as a right hand drive car, where it was converted for racing in Africa and reimported to the UK some years ago. The car has been used for classic racing in the UK with Fiscar and the Swinging 60's series. The current owner has only raced the car in handful races including Silverstone classic since purchasing the car in 2013. Otherwise, the car has been well maintained and stored at Hawker racing since 2013.
The car was MOT certified in 2013.
The original features of the car (or true to original type upgrades) include the chassis frame, the front suspension, the rear suspension, the engine which has been well maintained and is in good condition, the ignition, the lubrication, the gearbox, the steering, the lighting.
The car's intended purpose of racing comes through in the materials and presentation with its signs of wear and use - it poses a good base to give it a more pristine look.
The modifications that are not original or upgraded to different dimensions to the original: Fuel feed has been changed to a Weber; the fuel system has been changed to a bag-type fuel tank with an electric pump, it is on Dunlop Alloy peg drive wheels.
The car has been fitted with an aluminium bonnet and upgraded Jaguar MK9 Calipers brakes.
For the car to enter any Goodwood or Legend series races it would require changes to the steering, brakes and the suspension.
The car could also be converted to a road car but this would equally require the same changes as above but with different configurations appropriate for road driving.
