Description
For sale: 1975 Toyota Celica TA22 LT – A one-of-a-kind JDM classic with a story to tell.
This isn’t just a car; it’s been a massive part of my life for over a decade. Back in 2010, I moved to Thailand for work and, after years of relying on trains and taxis, I decided to treat myself to something special. As a true JDM enthusiast, I knew I wanted something unique, and that’s when I found this stunning Toyota Celica TA22.
Over the next ten years, I poured my heart and soul into this car. I waited months for rare, discontinued Hayashi wheels, had custom spoilers made, and painstakingly restored it to its current glory. Fast forward to 2021 – I returned to the UK and couldn’t bear to leave it behind in storage. Importing it was no small task (and cost a fortune), but I paid all the taxes and duties, and it’s been fully registered here since last year with a full V5 document.
Sadly, it’s now time to part ways. With my work taking me to the Middle East and storage here in the UK being too expensive, I have no choice but to let it go.
This 1975 Celica is tax and MOT exempt, and you won’t find another TA22 like this anywhere in Europe.
Specs:
- Engine: 4A-GE 1600cc TwinCam 16v (fully overhauled)
- Aluminum radiator with electric fan
- Stainless steel headers with heat-resistant fiber cover
- 2” stainless steel exhaust – sounds perfect, not too loud
- Adjustable threaded shocks for great handling and comfort
- Recaro seats with new leather covers
- Heat-insulated interior for added comfort
- GT console with fully functional gauges
- Rare 15” Hayashi wheels (195/ 50R15)
The car also has custom touches like a rear tail spoiler and steel front lip, both professionally made.
This car is more than a classic; it’s a proper JDM head-turner. Whether you want something to take to meets or simply to enjoy on the road, it’s ready to go.
Since I imported this car from Thailand. all cars from over there come factory fitted with A/ C but no heating due to the climate. It’s not something Iv done yet. Also as you can see from the pictures and videos the car looks amazing cleaned up well. Obviously the car is 1975 model and being a 15yr old paint job could do with a paint job and small amounts of rust around the windscreen nothing major as this car came from a warm climate. The work required is minimal. Nevertheless it’s the best example around
It’s hard to let go of something I’ve put so much into, but it deserves someone who can give it the attention it needs. If you’re interested or have any questions, feel free to ask. Serious offers only, please – this isn’t just any car.
