Very clean and well kept over the years
In my ownership i have replaced
- Front discs and pads
- Rebuilt rear drums
- New handbrake cable
- New shock absorbers all round
- Lowering springs (previous owner)
- New adjustable panhard rod
- New rear shock brace (anti-roll bar)
- New wheel bearings all round
- New CV joints
- Replaced variety of oil seals including gearbox output shafts, rocker cover gasket, oil pan gasket
- New air filter
- Replaced gearbox for 5 speed from a mk3 fiesta (fantastic on motorways)
- Rust sorted on wheel arches and bumper
- Lower half respray for whole car inc stone chip stuff on wheel arches
- New clutch
- Waxoyl underbody and in engine bay has aided the corrosion free aging of this car, fantastic for 36 years old
Only bad bits:
- Slight oil leak from oil filter housing, not a big repair but I havent got round to doing it yet
- Drivers-side seat forward fold doesnt work as the cable has snapped some how, although i’ve never really needed to use it and when i did, the passenger-side works perfectly
All in all, very well taken care of and very fun to drive, engine is smooth, gearbox is crisp, all feels tight and i’ve spent a good amount of time and money on the upkeep seeing as I daily drove it for a year.
Never let me down, from -temperatures to +30deg always started, never overheated. Genuinely great car!
