1972 Ford Capri RS3100 Recreation
I purchased this car 14 years ago , it was a 3100 GXL finished in Sebring Red
The previous owner had spent a considerable amount of time and money in recreating it to a Capri RS3100 , the car was very nice and I have never had the inclination to put back to a GXL
The GXL s are now few and far between and command strong money
So back to my car , I have spent a small fortune on the car since then and it is now Stunning and won many awards every year at Classic car shows
Last year I managed to purchase an original high performance Race engine build by famous Engine Builder John Wade
It was built by John many years ago and was supposed to go into a race car but the owner never got round to it and kept it dry stored
The engine was brand new
The build circa £15k plus
The engine is now in my car and has been carefully run in last year and drives amazing
I think we are talking circa 200bhp but probably could be tweaked to 220bhp
In 2020 I gave the car to a bespoke body shop to take the car back to bare metal , remove any filler or rust and metal repair
The car was fully repainted in original Sebring Red and brand new RS3100 decals were made and put on car
RS3100 flared front wings were put on car
The results were stunning and the car still looks immaculate
