Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Alleggerita MM, produced in only 200 examples with Bertone bodywork, used lightweight aluminium for several parts including the engine bonnet, boot lid, door panels and frames, bumpers, headlamp frames, intake manifold, oil pan and wheels. Sliding Plexiglas windows were also fitted, allowing the removal of heavy window regulating cranks. The interior, on the other hand, was simplified, eliminating the rear seat and sound-absorbing materials. In the end, the lightened Giulietta Sprint Veloce weighed around 68 kg less than the standard Sprint Veloce, and with the adoption of two horizontal twin-body Weber carburettors, horsepower rose to 90 and speed to 180 km/ h.
