One of the main aspects that made the 203 innovative was the fact that it was the first Peugeot with a load-bearing body. This still makes the 203 a milestone in the French company's history, but the reasons that made the 203 an innovative car in its day also lie in the new TM engine, a 1290 cm³ 4-cylinder with hemispherical combustion chambers, overhead valves and cross-flow head made of 'alpax' alloy. This engine delivered a maximum power output of 45 bhp at 4500 rpm, enough to push the car to a top speed of 136 km/ h. This example despite its 71 years, is in excellent conservative condition, the bodywork except for an external refreshment glaze, all the interior parts such as the engine compartment, boot and underbody are still intact with first factory paint, mechanically overhauled to new, including its original engine that to date has covered only 48487 km. Inside, the door panels and seats have been reupholstered.
