Description
Here we have our lovely Triumph GT6 Mk3 first registered in Oct 73 and one of the last five cars built so benefits from the final flurry of improvements made to the Mk3 including servo assisted brakes, revised rear suspension with swing - spring rear axle replacing the old and troublesome Rotoflex couplings.
The car was subject of a full nut and bolt restoration a number of years ago and this is well documented with many pics and documents on file.
Condition is excellent and a testament to the quality of the restoration work.
Amongst the work undertaken was a new bonnet, complete new floor and sill structures, full chassis overhaul, engine rebuild (converted to unleaded), spin on oil filter conversion and stainless exhaust.
The interior was also fully refurbished with new seats, door cards, headlining and walnut dash - a lovely place to be in.
Following the restoration the car won a concours award for best original spec GT6 at the Triumph Sports Six Club international show and also an award for the best GT6 at the TSSC Worcester area concours the following year.
The car is currently stored at home in our garage away from the winter elements. I will take a few photos as and when possible although she doesn't venture out in the rain so it may be a while!
The photo in the ad was taken by Practical Classics magazine when a few pics of the car were used in a GT6 feature article. ( the magazine and copies of the photos comes with all the paperwork)Having looked for a GT6 for many years there were quite a significant number which needed work and I was blown away by the condition of our car which is testament to the restoration work done some 20 years ago.
Sadly, work commitments have meant that I have not been able to use the car very much and as I am now looking to get involved in sprinting this year the car has to go to fund a project track car.
We are based in Stone near to Stafford and just a few mins from M6 J14
A rare opportunity to own what must be one of the very best GT6's out there
