Beautiful Classic 1981 Moto Guzzi 1000SP
Being sold from my private collection of Classic Italian Motorcycles, as I have ultimately made the decision to sell off my entire collection inventory, including my Moto Guzzi Collection.
After many years of actively collecting and enjoying a multitude of classic Moto Guzzi’s, I have decided to list my beautiful 1000SP for sale.
The Guzzi is in immaculate condition, totally unmolested and presented in flawless aesthetic order.
The bike is a highly usable and enjoyable trans continental cruiser.
Accident and rust free, mechanically superb, this bike offers the Italian motorbike connoisseur, the opportunity of immediate ownership of a very rare and highly acclaimed V Twin cruising machine in turnkey condition.
Presented in the original Moto Guzzi Rosso, it just does not get any better than this, heritage and provenance are truly built in to this wonderful Italian creation!Some History:
A one owner bike in perfect original condition. Supplied new in 1981 by Moto Guzzi in Johannesburg to a Mr Du Randt, from whom I purchased the bike a few years ago.
Having been actively searching for a 1000SP Guzzi, for a very long time, without much luck, I was ready to give up the dream. A fellow Moto Guzzi enthusiast was out on a run and was approached by a gentleman whom was busy admiring his Guzzi, whilst he was having a coffee inside.
This gent, was Mr Boeta Du Randt, and he also had a Guzzi parked in his garage at home, the rest as they say is history.
I went to fetch the bike with great expectation, and rightly so, the SP was glorious, and it was love at first sight.
Cared for by a mature owner, the SP rides like a dream, it has immense power and what I believe to be the best sound from any bike, the V Twin sings. Yet it can run as smoothly as a sewing machine at full throttle. The Guzzi runs on almost new Michelin tyres and handles and stops perfectly.
Free of any rot or corrosion, the 1000SP is an unrestored bike, it is just as it left the factory in 1981.
Included in the sale is a full fairing and visor kit which adds another exciting aesthetic dimension to the bikes aspirations as being a proper grand tourer.

The 1000SP starts on the button and is as smooth as silk, it is an immense motorcycle and not one for an inexperienced rider, the ideal choice for trans-continental touring, also a great bike for daily commuting.
