Description

Highly modified 1977 Lancia Scorpion Turbo (Last Scorpion exported to America a total of 1, 801 examples built for north American market in 1977)

Selling my 1977 Lancia Scorpion Turbo, fuel injected. it's a bittersweet decision, one that weighs heavy in my heart. It's been more than just a vehicle. It's been a passion project, a labor of love for the last 34 years. I am currently the second owner of the car, but reality has a way of intruding on dreams and the harsh truth is that I simply don't have the time or resources to give the car the attention it deserves. Life demands have shifted, me with little choice but to part ways with my beloved Scorpion, it's a decision tinged with a reluctance, as letting go means goodbye to a piece of myself, a tangible manifestation of my automotive aspirations. Yet, in the phase of practicality, sentimentality must sometimes take a backseat, as much as it pains me to admit, holding onto this project would only prolong is stagnation, denying it the chance to fulfill its potential in the hands of someone who can devote the necessary time and care. And so with a heavy heart and a sense of resignation, I’m prepared to bid farewell to my Lancia, knowing that it's next chapter awaits with someone who can give it the attention it deserves.

The Car is being offered with a tremendous amount of spears
(over30 boxes), all the original equipment will be included to body parts and mechanical parts, this has being a 34 year collection that I cannot confirm into details. I will list what I remember but you will find surprises in any box (please refer to the pictures). Lets just start, the car has an original brand new block installed in the year 2001, it’s an 1800 original Lancia block, car had 29, 750 miles, Cylinder head, modified by PBS here in California, a complete rebuilt of the cylinder head was done with new Abarth springs etc. etc. Other modifications to the head includes 160* thermostat fitted in the cylinder head original’s place (not like in the outside type thermostat), a CAM mounted distributor and a conversion to an OEM Lancia electronic fuel injection from a donor car 1982 Special edition Lancia Zagato. The engine has been modified to a 2 L oil pump to accommodate a Ferrari oil cooler that I installed at the time with the new block, so the capacity of the oil is not any longer what it used to be due to the lines for the oil cooler so therefore you would have to fill to the top mark of the original dipstick, so it takes approximately (don’t remember precisely) in between 8 and 9 quarts of oil, (the lines are quite long). The short block assembly was not modified in any way, it’s bone stock. VIN # 137AS0101805 (Last Scorpion exported to America a total of 1, 801 examples built for north American market in 1977) The gearbox has been modified with first and fifth gear from a 1982 Lancia limited edition Zagato (to achieve a lower RPM on the Scorpion box final drive), all the other major modifications to the engine include: a turbo charger from a donor Fiat Spider Turbo 1982 with all the original electronic switches, etc.; in order to lower the compression for the turbo conversion, I used a head gasket from a Lancia Integrale turbo (I’m including an extra brand new Lancia Integrale head gasket on the sale) the stock flywheel has been lightened, also includes a special repair factory manual for turbo and many spare parts for it like: exhaust manifolds, 1 turbo disassembled to be rebuilt, 1 complete turbo charger to be rebuilt and numerous other parts. All the water hoses lines have been removed and used instead the water pipes from the 1982 Lancia special edition Zagato. The car sits on Koni shocks with three piece HRE wheels 4 X 98, 15 x 7 size with a perfect offset, no spacers are being used on the car. The springs I’ve used to lower the car are from a Bertone X1/ 9. Brakes have been recently completely refurbished within the last 200 miles and for you “six footers” this car comes with a fiberglass style detachable roof called “double bubble” so no problem in that area. The car has been maintained with regular oil changes. I use mostly Mobile one synthetic oil, I put the rebuilt radiator at 38, 200 miles, I use Toyota red coolant, new timing belt was replaced in 2015, together with CB joints boots. I haven’t registered the car for a few years. It was on and off from none operational until 2023. Since then I have done changes again: timing belt, shifter bushings, complete brake job with new brake hoses, rebuilt calipers, new hardware, new rotors and new fluid; metal shields and break calipers were yellow gold plated, new stainless steel exhaust resonator, stainless tip and new oxygen sensor. New Bosch fuel filter, new fuel pressure regulator and 4 new injectors, the front end was rebuilt with 2 new control arms and all four radius rod bushings and two radius rod bracket bushings.

Offered at $27, 500 or best offer. Please, Serious inquires only, thank you.
