Description
Of course NOT for nothing - THREE fabulous Austins, buy all three or take two (leave me one) - WHY?? Only ROOM for ONE!!! - we are downsizing.......
A fabulous original 1927 12/ 4 'Windsor', long stroke saloon: A fully restored 1925 (reg. 1926) 12/ 4 'Clifton Tourer' in Red. A rare 1929 16/ 6 2. 3 Ltr 'Burnham deluxe' Limo in very original livery, new tyres, 7 opening windows, three blinds, smokers hatch - brilliant.
Sadly, All but one just has to go - as we are downsizing. All are beautiful, All fully working and reliable and in brilliant condition.
All are used regularly (but not in Winter salt) - we just can't keep all three. The 'Clifton Tourer' is £21, 000 - thousands spent on it - (referb'd AutoVac, refurb'd dynamo, referb'd brass Carb', Lots of new electricals) . The 16/ 6 is £17, 500 after much work (new dynamo, new contactless distributor, new tyres etc). The 12/ 4 'Windsor' is now £12, 500 recently rewired, new electronic battery management, referb'd Carb' and referb'd dynamo and new electronic distributor. All these enhancements could be reversed but currently they start 'on-the-button', don't suffer from dirty tanks, or Fuel starvation, or boiling batteries etc: They are NOT cheap disposals!! So you get exactly what you pay for - but really must be seen to be evaluated. Buy any one or two or all thee..... The 'Clifton' was a long search for the right car. It's actually 'Gumdrop II' (of Val Biro's books). Its also my SUMMER car, stored all its life in a dry garage. The 16/ 6 'Burnham' was a long search (dismissing many others cheaper) It's very original, powerful and a rare version. The 12/ 4 'Windsor' has been tastefully restored with a photo history proof of being taken right down to bare metal. We would honestly keep any ONE - the 'Clifton' being the favourite (but only when the rare sun shines..... VAR member 4242ALL three Austins were searched for - many similar disregarded. The three Austins are fabulous and will be 'The Best on Car & Classic' - but have to be seen to be evaluated. Not a 'flip' in sight, all working daily (I don't have a 'modern' car), all start 'on the button' BECAUSE of the effort put into reliability. The ONLY single reason we're restricting to ONE of the three - we are moving and only have room for ONE. You will get what you pay for.
