Show Standard Classic Rover Mini 1275cc (1993) - Marvellously Remade, Redesigned & Restored
Being in show stopping condition, this Mini would fit perfectly at Goodwood or the NEC. It has beautiful bodywork, recently bare metalled and painted to a premium, near concourse standard with this great depth of shine. Under the shine this Mini is made of metal, this is not your ordinary Mini moulded from body filler, she’s properly and professionally prepared.
Looking underneath, at her undercarriage, it is just as impressive, exactly what you want to see, all new proper panel work, new braking parts, new subframe, suspension and sports exhaust, I need to get her on the ramp tomorrow to take more photographs.
Finished and finalised with gleaming new chrome work, a redesign and retake on the classic, combining upgraded halogen lighting with new chrome spotlights, with the iconic 60’s Lucas Reverse lamp, with the Sportspack wide wide arches wrapped around thirteen inch super wide deep dish alloys, trodden with the the premium Yokohama tyres. Stanced to perfection, she has adjustable HI LO’s all round giving you dynamic ride height adaptability for all roads and conditions.
Being, throughout fifteen years, owned, driven and restored by a Mini enthusiast, the love and expertise invested within this Mini is apparent and obvious.
Behind the wheel she’s terrific and/ or terrifying, powered by her sought after, original, matching numbers, 1275cc carburettor engine, combining a minimal power to weight ratio with that unique and iconic, rally winning, classic Mini handling. The sounds, the smells, the feeling of her carburettor power just whisks you back to another era, a different decade, it’s pure classical motoring, proper nostalgia.
Driving a Mini is about holding your nerve, slow speeds feel furiously fast, experienced drivers can throttle throughout the corner, accelerating rapidly, it’s a game of nerve, like fast road go karting within what looks and feels like a toy car.
She needs for nothing, her engine is healthy and thriving, her gearbox precise and tort, likely rebuilt. She is supplied with her engine and brakes, plus her cooling system fully serviced, her heater matrix and radiator has been renewed. She is supplied with 12 months MOT and no advisories, professionally tuned to optimise her performance. Her engine is original, factory fitted and standard, it’s not been messed with or molested, we could paint it and present it, but it’s honest and genuine as it stands, wearing whats left of it’s original factory paint.
Glancing inside her fabrics are newly replaced, new carpets and underlay, a new headlining and sun visors, lifting these up you see brand new, body coloured floor panels, without the usual rust or weld patches. She retains her factory fitted original seats and door cards. Her floors are bone dry, not your usual wishy washy dampness, benefitting from new seals throughout. Opening her boot you have a lovely refinished space, surrounded by a new petrol tank and battery, complete with security power disconnect. She comes complete with her factory spare wheel, factory jacking set and the ever useful Haynes Manual.
One thing that may need to be changed is her instrument cluster because two dash bulbs are not working. Not a problem, new ones are but £40-60, we can order one, we can fit one and this isn’t her original regardless, but a faulty replacement (hence the mileage discrepancy currently).
For those unacquainted, the beauty of Mini’s is that ninety nine percent of mechanical matters can be fixed from your garage or driveway, without professional costs and within an hour or two, more usually on a beer and nuts budget. The Haynes manual or better yet Youtube, guides you, every part has been reborn and replaced, most parts are under £10 to £20. Being able to fix your own car is so underrated, being able to know and understand how your machine works is fascinating and feels empowering.
Whilst she would not look out of place gleaming on an show stand, she does have a bit of previous, a bit of baggage and she was categorised (c) twenty years ago during a minor panel damage accident. It’s needless to say that just about every part has been replaced and renewed, repainted and refinished since, any minor panel scrape or bump has no bearing on her condition today.
So this is your opportunity to purchase an out of this world example, an example with beautiful bodywork and an equally exceptional undercarriage, complete and powered by its factory original 1275cc engine and gearbox. Being behind the wheel is just awesome, come and see what it feels like.
