1994 Jaguar XJ40 XJ12 XJ81 6. 0 V12 61k Low Mileage project.

Location, Kirton, near Boston, South Lincolnshire PE20, UK.

Very low mileage 94 6. 0 model, only 61k from new.
Requires some Restoration work to put back on the road. Runs, drives, stops, with no warning lights on the dash.
Needless to say it’s a project car for a Jaguar enthusiast looking for a rare variant with the big 6. 0 engine. Rare car, really not many left now.
I took this car on about 18 months ago, and got the ball rolling with bringing it back to its former glory. I have run out of time on it now though, with so many other cars needing work here. Hence offered for sale as a rolling restoration.
It will require transporting/ trailering. I can help recommending a transporter if needs be.

V5c present on my name. The V5 shows 6 previous owners, but the guy I bought it off says it was in his family since 1995? So I guess it’s gone into various family members names?
Desirable 16” Sport Lattice wheels x5, in great original condition. These are worth a lot on their own.

Work done so far….
Oil & filter replacement. Genuine filter. Quality oil.
Full coolant change. With correct Green fluid.
All fluids checked/ topped up where necessary
VCM no faults noted
Interior overhead lamp panel fixed/ new bulbs.
Fuseboxes refurbished (left & right)
Central now locking fully working, including the fuel flap lock, and boot!
Windows x3 working. Left front not working
All four door speakers replaced.
Left side door mirror replaced.
RH chrome door mirror cap- replaced
All four door latches & door handles fully lubricated, so they operate smoothly & correctly (they all get very stiff/ notchy at this age, if not maintained correctly)
DBC10009 & DBC10193 relays refurbished
Replaced Security ECU- alarm was going off when battery connected/ remote pairing would not work).
CL fully working,
Replaced NS screen washer jet.
New genuine front footwell carpets fitted.
Fitted new main dealer front number plate.
RH wing repeater refurbished.
RH outer headlamp bulb
Both front side lights bulbs replaced
Sun visor clips replacements fitted x2.
Ignition & oxygen sensor relays replaced.
Bonnet liner is the layer updated type changed under Jaguar Recall.
3x screw covers for inner handles
1 x bonnet level grommet added.
Aerial grommet missing / now fitted. New genuine.
Ariel. - working genuine replacement fitted.
2x air filters replaced. Mann filters
X300 wiper arm fitted with good blade
Distributor air filter replaced genuine.
Cleaned up boot floor & painted
Swapped boot plinth (was damaged).
Boot lid new struts.
Rear bumper side mounts fitting
Rear bumper reassembled and refitted.
Replacement rear fog lamps with the correct plugs fitted.
Oil pressure sender wiring repaired (broken wire).

Checked
Both Heater fans blow on all three speeds.
Throttle linkage bushes are present and on good order.
SLS decommissioned by a past owner, now on standard rear suspension. (The Reservoir is still in place though). Work needed.
Corrosion to the front floors to sill joins. Requires welding. Outer body is generally very good, except for one hole in the outer front left sill. Solid front wings, rear arches, screen surrounds, rear deck etc,
Lacquer peel- needs top side painting, or if you can find a bonnet and boot lid with good paint, then only the roof would need painting.
Both Power steering rack gaiters need replacement.
Radio not accepting the code? Needs coding to default.
Exhaust blowing mid box join.
Front Bumper for headlamp washer jets fitted, but no washer system present.
RH front door ajar switch faulty.
Left front window not functioning. New motor needed?
Engine Oil cooler needs o-rings on the pipe join (standard 6. 0 consumable part).
Headlining. - pinned up, ideally wants replacing. But it’s not in the way.
EAV (Extra Air Valve) requires replacement or repair, (standard 6. 0 weak point), which controls the idle speed.
