Description
This is a 1962 Riley 1. 5 which has driven 70868 genuine miles
It has been in the family since 1992 and took part in many classic car rallies in the UK. Following a light exterior restoration in 2009 it was driven around Europe on a road trip and featured on the front cover on the owners club magazine Riley Record! The plan was then to undertake a full restoration and the car was parked up in the (centrally heated) garage. For various reasons that did not materialise, and the car hasn’t been driven since. Due to a change in circumstances the Riley now needs to find a new home to be recommissioned and to get it back on the road.
The car is complete.
I bought a new battery, changed the oil and added some new fuel and it started straight away so the engine is running but there are no brakes (other than the hand brake) so will need to be loaded straight onto a trailer/ lorry
The condition of the paint and interior is average. Although the car was repainted around 2000 the interior is original. I am happy to send more photos to any interested buyer plus you are welcome to view by appointment. (Contact via E mail)
Of interest I have a lot of the original documentation and the owner who kept the car for 20 years kept a detailed record of all the servicing. The sale includes the original handbook, warranty service book and the workshop manual. The car will also come with various parts and spares as seen in the pictures
