Description
I am selling my 2002 Saab 9-3 2. 2Tid that I have had for over three years and been using as my daily driver. This is quite a unique car as it has a number of Abbott Racing upgrades, including fully adjustable shocks, Viggen rescue kit, stage one remap, lowered 20mm, SS back box, ITG performance filter. Service history with 19 stamps in the service book from Saab/ Saab specialists.
Mechanically working very well, runs and drives great with lots of power thanks to the performance upgrades (particularly impressive in fifth gear at motorway speeds thanks to the torque).
Suspension wise, the shocks have been replaced with Koni adjustable ones and the springs with Abbott Racing ones and as you would expect, it rides and handles very nicely indeed. It also has the Abbott Racing "Viggen rescue kit" fitted, which definitely sharpens steering and reduces body roll.
Interior is excellent and the heated seats work very well. All SID pixels present (ribbon replaced) and even the electrically adjustable mirrors work. Original 'Turbo' embossed seats are a nice touch as well as the carbon dash which was an original optional extra.
Body wise the main body is in very good condition, the wheel arches are excellent apart from literally a tiny bit of rust coming through that I have showed in the pics. The bonnet will need a respray as it had some lacquer peel and I tried to do it myself but ran out of paint, meant to get it done but just never got round to it. The bumpers have a number of bruises on them and there is a crack on the front bumper where I hit a fence post..... I need glasses ha ha The bumpers are the worst bit but if they were resprayed this would be a lovely looking car.
Some work that has been carried out over the years, which in my ownership has been undertaken by Saabtec, Glossop:
13/ 6/ 24
-new front top mount
-new front disks and pads
-new front caliper
02/ 24
-two new front tyres
8/ 12/ 23
-new seal rings
-transmission fluid replaces
-fuel filter replaced
-middle exhaust pipe replaced
10/ 10/ 21
-fan belt replaced
14/ 04/ 21
-new engine mounts
-set koni dampers
-new springs
- top mounts replaced
Things that will need addressing over time, the parrot hands free has stopped working and the heater matrix buzzes at times which can be annoying. Also Mot is in February but passed well on the last one. Also probably now due a full service.
The reason for selling is that I need an automatic so just purchased an automatic Saab 93 just before Xmas, this genuinely is a reluctant sale.
Two keys present and lots of service history and receipts for work carried out.
Would be a great first Saab or rolling project. Open to offers.
Kind regards
Simon
