FOR SALE:
My lovely 1988 RG250 VJ21 SP. I bought this bike from a gentleman who specialises in these 80s and 90s two strokes, from whom I have bought a few bikes over the years. This motorcycle was imported in 2015 by Steel City Classics and James bought it from them, went right through the bike, used and enjoyed it for a while, and then I purchsed it from him a couple of years later.
This bike is in amazing totally original, not restored, condition and has covered about 15000 miles. It is part of my large collection which I am now reducing in size. I fitted a new battery to it this morning, put fuel in it and it started 3rd kick and soon settled down to a nice burble. I then donned my helmet and gloves and rode it up and down on the farm where I keep my bikes. I had forgotten how potent these little bikes are and it sounds absolutely magnificent!
Having just spoke to James to check the information he gave me at the time, the special features of the SP are:
Rebound adjusters to the forks
Drilled discs
Alloy lower yoke
8, instead of 7, plate clutch
Drilled gear lever
Close Ratio Gearbox
No footpegs on the rear
Single racing seat unit
Larger carbs
