BMW R90S built 1973, registered 1974 'M' Registration. I bought this bike in November 2019 and since then have gone through it. I sent the bike off in 2021 with 54, 000 miles on the clock to a specialist to be rebuilt and had the frame powder coated. The engine and gearbox were rebuilt and anything that needed work was done, including new wheel bearings, fork rebuild and the final drive was rebuilt. I have the details of the work done. The tank, fairing and tail fairing were not touched and I believe the paint to be genuine, there are a few scratches here and there. There is a mark on the fairing where the bike has gone down the road in a previous life. I have also had the instruments rebuilt by Peter Bond. The bike sports Ikon shocks. Boyer electronic ignition has been fitted, the parts to return to points ignition are with the bike. I am the fourth owner, the third appears to have had it since about 2015. There are three previous MoTs from the early 90s and the mileage had not significantly increased from the 47, 000 miles recorded in 1990 until I bought it. I have added over 12, 000 miles in five years, 5, 000 since early 2022.
I have a pair of period Krauser panniers with the bike, although there are no keys. The toolkit is present.

I bought this bike as I had a 90/ 6 when I were a lad. I have always fancied a 90S and I have not been disappointed. This bike is great on longer trips. In August I rode it over 800 miles return to Sammy Miller's museum over a long weekend. It is also great at days out and I would not hesitate to take it anywhere. The tank is 24 litres and the bike averages over 50mpg in my hands. I have seen 260 miles on the clock before refilling. I am only selling due to taking a fancy to the last of the line, a 100CS.
