Description
1952 Moto Guzzi Galletto in running condition. I bought this a few years ago and have carried out various works, including replacing the main wiring loom, fitting a new exhaust, sourcing the correct key, obtaining a correct spare wheel and fitting a new tyre. It doesn't need much to make it usable, but will need another tyre. I started repairing the centre stand but didn't finish it.
Gallettos are interesting bikes and are have a strong following in Italy, where they were known as the 'priest's bike' because of their popularity with the clergy and the professional classes. They combined scooter convenience with the mechanical sophistication of a proper 4 stroke motorbike. The Galletto had a single sided swingarm long before Honda or Ducati, and had other neat design touches like interchangeable wheels and a spare mounted behind the front wheel.
I don't have the mounting clip for the spare wheel, but this could easily be fabricated or sourced from Italy.
