Description
New Engine / clutch and fuel pump fitted less thsn 800 miles ago. Tyres all good and a new Tyre and Tube just fitted to spare wheel. The car is nicely patinated for its age which includes its original interior so it remains very original and genuine it is not concours , and this is how they should be.. Regularly seen at Shows and I have done a couple of weddings. Drives superbly. Only for sale as losing my storage. I Purchased this Austin Light 12/ 4 Ascot from Dartmoor Garages (Devon) in the mid 80's. They had purchased the car from its original owners wife following her husbands death. They removed the wings to repaint them and put the car across the end of their small paint shop under a shelf containg sundry paints etc., sadly a tin of thinners was knocked over (with the lid off) and stripped the paint off a large patch of the bonnet. They had no time to finish the work and that is how I bought it. All four wings had been primed and came with the car, and of course the bonnet with the paint damaged by the thinners incident.. I recommissioned it at the time mechanically, but I never got the wings fitted or the bonnet done. I did refit the rear side windows with new seals. Eventually one of my car Club members called to see me and talked me into parting with it, which I always regretted. He subsequently refitted the wings and painted the Bonnet and put her back on the road. Two years after he had it on the road it ran a big end bearing. He removed the Engine and had it rebuilt and a new clutch fitted at a total cost of just under £4, 000.. 5 years ago he unfortunately suffered a Heart Attack and decided to sell it. And in a moment of weakness I bought it back. And must admit I have really enjoyed having it back for the last few years. But I am 83 and have run out of space, and still have two ongoing projects I am working on. So with a heavy heart, I have to sell her.. I hope I have given you sufficient back ground history of my car, which to the best of my knowledge is true.
