A very reluctant sale but sadly necessary as moving house and just won't have garage space for him.
Affectionately known as "Binky" I have owned this little gem for approximately 3 years and have had the best time.
The previous owner to me had it for 5 years but knew it for 11 and said it had the sweetest little engine which it truly has. He owned Mk2 and said the previous owner to him must have done something to the engine of this Mk1 as it ran just that little bit better than his Mk2 but he could never find out what! That always made me feel good
The video (which I can send you or view on the marketplace advert) shows it running and it started 2nd time after standing for 8 weeks without being run - it has a beautiful exhaust note too, has greatly oil pressure and a cracking little heater with one speed fan that keeps you nice and toasty even with the roof and windows off.
Being a Mk1 it's simplicity is truly amazing. No door handles/ locks, no winding windows just removable sliding ones, indicator switch on the dash, pull start ignition and a soft top that you pack away in the boot!
Comes with 4 wire wheels, decent tyres and spinner tightener and a full tonneau cover. I've made a good practical boot base which allows easier storage considering the spare wheel takes up so much space
Paint/ bodywork in good condition but by no means perfect.
The car has been repainted in the past as there is evidence that it was pale blue at some point. The engine bay is painted in satin black.
Electronic ignition is also sorted.
The interior was completely replaced in early 2022 in blue with white piping and is still in excellent condition and the seats are really comfortable.
Windscreen is in good condition and the screen to body seal was replaced in 2022 prior to my ownership. A beautifully simple little car that's the best fun ever
