Delivered on 7th April 1936 to Kemp Brothers, Seaford Hove (still in business in Seaford today) and sold to Mr P Russell Sun Park Seaford on 9th April 1936
At some stage the car was brought by gentleman in Singapore (it is believed to still have been there in 1992 and was imported back into the UK in 2012 by Mr Bala Lakshmanasamy. During 2013 over £4, 200 was spent on it at David Wall of Norwich after which a great deal more money was invested in it for work done by Singer expert Bill Tull.
There are eight pages of his handwritten notes documenting what he did. In short carburettors rebuilt, new fuel pump, repair to engine block, new pistons, white metalled connecting rod and crankshaft bearings, cylinder head skimmed, new valves rebuilt rockers and pillars, replacement timing belt tensioner, new engine mountings, new clutch, steering box overhaul , new dynamo, new starter motor, brake overhaul, replacement half shaft, rebuilt speedometer and tachometer and rebuilt wiper motor.
The car is mechanically in good condition with an engine sounding sweet and everything else working well so the car drives nicely. The body work is ok but does need tidying.
My son and I purchased the car in November 2020 enjoying several VSCC events with it before my son passed on. The cars had little use in the last 18 months and I’m now happy to let it go for someone else to enjoy.
