Description

This Porsche 356 B T5 has been awarded the prestigious ASI 'Targa Oro' homologation and with the Certificate of Historical Significance transcribed in the vehicle registration book, it is currently the rarest Porsche 356, the desire of every collector. This is a 'Karmann Hardtop Coupe', also known as a Notchback. This model was only built in 1961 in 1048 examples using the bodywork of a cabriolet car, to which was welded a Hardtop from the single-body cabriolet, followed in 1962 in 667 examples, but in a BT6 big-body version, making a very different car from the previous year, making a pure coupé, without the bodywork of the cabriolet version. All using the Karmann factories where some versions of the Porsche 356 Cabriolet were built. The number of cars of this 356 type still in circulation is estimated by Porsche experts to be well under 100, making it a very rare car for Porsche. This specific car has been completely disassembled and completely restored, the upholstery and seats are new (real grain leather), the engine has been completely rebuilt with new high-performance 40mm Solex carburettors (another pair of 36mm Zenit Bendix carburettors are also available), every part of the bodywork has been restored and carefully repainted in its original colour "Red 6202", the tyres are new and in addition to the chromed rims installed, there is another set of rims painted grey (original and Porsche branded), at the front very effective disc brakes have been installed, and the braking system is equipped with a dual brake master cylinder, for greater safety and reliability (original drum brakes are also available). The car is currently extremely high-performance and reliable, very high performance and usable without any work, and always kept in perfect maintenance and operation. This car is a safe investment as its prices are constantly rising and it will certainly be a sought-after collector's item. The car was purchased 15 years ago by the current owner, and after careful restoration, it is a regular participant at classic vehicle rallies and events.
