For Sale - 1989 Audi 100 2. 0e Avant manual
After 9 very reliable years I’m selling my beloved Audi. It’s been a fun practical classic, but it’s time for a change.
This is a great car for someone looking for something interesting, rare (very rare these days), incredibly practical and very 80s!
It’s a true motorway cruiser and will sit at 80 all day long. Known for being one of the most aerodynamic cars of it’s period, it’s also very economical for a car of its size. I’ve regularly achieved 40 mpg on long runs.
Inside it has a very tidy grey cloth interior, with no tears. The car features electrical windows and the all important working ‘autocheck’ computer to reassure you all is well under the bonnet. I spent some time sourcing the correct boot blind and mud flaps for the car, and everything looks spot on.
In great condition, the car has excellent bodywork with bright paint. The car is 36 years old so does have a couple of small dents, probably from the supermarket car park at some point in its long life, and a small patch of corrosion on the driver side front wheel arch.
Mechanically the car is sound and has done 187k miles. The 2. 0 litre 5 cylinder engine runs very sweet and has the best cold start of any car I’ve owned. The car has great MOT history too.
The car has been serviced regularly every 5000 miles during my ownership, during which the following new parts have been fitted:
* Front pads, discs and flexi lines
* Rear shoes and cylinders
* Gearbox mounts
* Clutch, master and slave cylinders
* Radiator, hoses and coolant bottle
* Heater fan motor
* Electric window relay
* 4 electric window regulators
* Headlights
* CV joints
* Full exhaust
* Timing belt and water pump
I shall be sorry to see her go as I have some excellent memories from my time with the car. Including trips across France, and being in the top 50 at the “Concourse D’Ordinary” at Festival of the Unexceptional.
I hope she goes to a good home, I’m looking for £4500.
