1982 Lotus Turbo Esprit
The time has sadly come to sell our 80's wedge. This has been a co-owned vehicle since April 2023, but due to a change of circumstances it's now no longer feasible for us to keep it.
The following work has been completed in our ownership:
- Replaced input and main gearbox shaft (HML supplied), along with the improved circlip to counter the known failure.
- 'C' service completed May '23, which included a new timing belt and tensioner, adjusted by Lotus specialists Hanger 111, and also tappet clearances checked and adjusted.
- Rolling road tuned by Hangar 111 in October 2023, producing 194hp.
- New rear wheel bearings, CV joints and bushes, rear brake hoses and pads fitted, winter 2024.
- New front anti-roll bar bushes and trunnions fitted, May '23.
- New exhaust silencer, May '23
- 'A' service completed, Jan '24
- Full fire suppression system fitted with remote extinguisher and interior activator cable.
The car is shown in the December 2024 edition of the Lotus Drivers Club 'Chicane' magazine, along with being pictured for April in the LDC 2025 calendar.
The car is in good condition for its age, is very original, and is always kept garaged. We have taken it to many car shows, where it never fails to attract a crowd. The Esprit also comes with a tailored car cover.
