Description
My 1955 Jaguar XK140 SE DHC is possibly the nicest RHD one on the market just now. Matching numbers and with Jaguar and Daimler Heritage Trust certificate. The engine is perfect and the car drives beautifully. With four disc brakes and servo it also stops extremely well. It has had a full body off restoration in the 90s in Australia, featuring on the front cover of the 2001 Australian "Classic Car" Magazine with a full article inside. Sold in the UK by JD Classics. The car has had a recent full chassis restoration, bare metal re-spray in Imperial Maroon and re-upholstery with new hood.
The car has original Moss gearbox with overdrive. The engine was fully refurbished with new head converted to C Type specification. It is impossible to emphasize how well this engine runs. Fitted with 123 electronic ignition, Kenlowe fan, restored dynamo and new regulator. All bumpers were re-chromed in 2017. Originally sold by Hornburg, Los Angeles in September 1955. The car was used for thirteen years in this non - corrosive climate before being stored for some time. It was registered to Eugene Hale of 86 Castro Street, San Francisco, California registered DCB 652 before being sold via a dealer called Fantasy Junction to a private buyer, Mr Eric Simes in Australia. The car was stored for many years before undergoing a complete body off restoration (photo's here in a small album). The car was then driven around New Zealand extensively before being shipped to the UK and sold to the previous owner to me by JD Classics. There is a valuation certificate for the time of sale.
