Description

1952 Cadillac Coupe De Ville Series 62
Rolling chassis/ shell project or parts car.
I will start with saying if you're looking for a car to fully restore back to original spec, then I would suggest this is not for you. You'd be far better off starting with a more complete car in better condition. If you want to build more of a rough patina daily beater then this has potential for the right person that has the time and skills to do it themselves subject to getting it registered. There is no V5 or title with this car. DVLA checks have confirmed this chassis number has not been registered in the UK before, and I have had it put on the NOVA system to confirm it's here, and there is no VAT to be paid. I started the first registration process including getting a copy of the original sales order from General Motors media archive. DVLA said it wasn't enough dating evidence and a letter from a car club would be required. That's as far as I got, and the supporting paperwork will be supplied with the car.
There are boxes of parts and stainless trim that will come with the car, but I don't have all the trim. The stainless trim could be used as is dents and all or has potential to be repaired if you were using the car as a source of parts. There is no engine or gearbox, not much in the way of interior, no front seat, no rear seat base, no windscreen, no rear centre screen. The side glass is there but cracked/ delaminated, however it is flat glass so easy to get replacements cut. The rear screen corner glasses are there and useable. Prop shaft, rear light lenses, rear wheel arch spats/ covers and interior panel cappings come with it too.
Chassis appears to be pretty solid. Body wise there are rust holes in the floors and boot floor where it meets the back panel. Various dents etc. Worst is the roof is kinked. I'm guessing it's been picked up to be moved by the roof using a chain through the door apertures. Could be repaired, or maybe cut the roof off and Carson top it?
This isn't an exhaustive list of what's right/ wrong/ missing/ present and it's priced accordingly. Viewing can be arranged but only serious buyers please as I only have limited time available. Just to be clear, you're not going to have this on the road in a few weekends and make loads of money. You're not going to be using parts from the car and fitting them to your restored example without putting some work into them first.
It should go without saying it will need a reasonably large trailer or recovery truck to move it - it's a big car.
