Hello and welcome to the sale of my E60 523i.
This particular example is a 2005 M Sport model and is finished in BMW’s titan silver, with a full black leather interior and wearing the ever-strong MV2 18” alloys and only has 41, 700 miles from new.

It boasts a near perfect MOT history record, as well as having full service history. There is no MOT on the car as it has not been in regular use for quite some time, however it has been serviced recently and used for occasional short trips to keep it ticking over. Now that I am ready to let it go, the car will have a valid MOT by the end of next week so it will be sold with 12 months on it.
Previous owners: Registered in Cardiff on 20/ 06/ 2005, the car was purchased by an elderly gentleman who owned the car until 2021 when he passed away.
Ownership was then transferred to a family member, who did not want the car so it was sold privately to a family friend, a retired policeman. He owned the car for a couple of years however personal circumstances meant he required a more disabled-friendly vehicle, so he in turn sold the car on to me in May 2023. Previous owner also fitted tow bar with working electrics and told me he never got round to using it. I have never used it either.
My ownership:
I was on the hunt for a low-mileage E60 to commute to and from work in when I came across this example. It ticked all the boxes, well looked after, mint and decent spec. I purchased the car on 15, 500 miles and have since put just over 25, 000 on it, purely using it as a commuter up and down the motorway.
In that time, it has been nothing short of fantastic. Owning an M car at the same time as having this meant that while that was consuming my every pay cheque and spending more time off the road than on it, the E60 remained continually reliable, never putting a foot wrong and being brilliantly cheap to run and maintain.
I have carried out no significant work on this car, other than looking after it with the usual wear and tear items: services, brakes & tyres. It is worth mentioning that I work for BMW and so have access to discounted OEM parts, so any work carried out has used only genuine parts.
The car has also been run on Tesco 99 Momentum fuel ONLY throughout the duration of my ownership.
The condition of the car is exemplary. The exterior is spotless, with the exception of 2 small paint blemishes on the front bumper (pictured). Not a spot of rust on the body, sills or arches. Theres also plenty of life left in the tyres.
The interior speaks much the same, with no noticeable wear on anything and the rear of the car looks as though it’s never been sat in! It is a lovely place to be, especially with the ‘quality of life’ upgrades such as an aftermarket OEM style headunit providing Apple Car Play and Android Auto, a reverse camera and a professionally installed dash cam set (front and rear).
Other notable quality of life upgrades that I’ve done are a set of aftermarket LED taillights and LED side repeaters.
Everything works exactly as you’d expect it too. The climate control along with the air con does a brilliant job of getting the inside nice and toasty on a cold day, or ice cold in the peak of summer. The sound system is excellent and is as crisp as any new car coming off the line today.
Reason for sale: having 2 cars for the last few years has taken its toll on my wallet and I need to downsize to just the one. I have sold my M car and bought a new, more modern 5 series to use as a daily instead so now unfortunately it’s time to say goodbye to this one.
I am happy to include any old bits and bobs to go along with this free of charge in the sale (another set of floor mats, the original iDrive screen and the original price list / ordering catalogue are the only things I can think of that come to mind at the moment) and also have a set of winter wheels for this car however would include these for an extra £300 (style 92s, with Michelin / Pirelli winter tyres on, all with 5+ mm of tread left).
Bad points of the car:
- paint defects on front bumper as previously mentioned
- Middle two rear parking sensors can sometimes intermittently beep when in reverse when not close to anything
- Wheels have seen better days and are in average condition
I firmly believe this is one of the lowest mileage, best condition, honest E60s out there and that the first to see will buy. I will be sad to see it go.
