The large 4-seater Mercedes-Benz coupé of the W 111 model series, to which this 280 SE belongs, was introduced in 1961 and was the manufacturer's prestigious flagship for over a decade. With stately, stylish glamour, but not exaggerated and unsurpassed in charisma and elegance, these large Mercedes coupés were synonymous with good taste. Until 1971, only 3, 797 examples of the 280 coupé were produced, mostly by hand, which makes them coveted classic cars today. This Mercedes 280 SE coupé in the refined look of the 300 SE and in the elegant colour combination of silver with a black roof was first registered in the USA in 1968. It is very well equipped: Automatic gearbox, 4-way electric windows, electric sunroof, air conditioning (Kühlmeister), leather interior, centre armrest, Becker Mexico radio, tinted windows, wheel arch chrome. The impressive coupé came back from the USA in 2012 and was then partially restored and cavity sealed. It is in beautiful, lightly patinated condition, offers space for the whole family and is ready for a short trip or a long tour.
