Description
The Porsche 914 was a joint development by Porsche and Volkswagen and was Porsche's new entry-level model from model year 1970. Striking design features of the mid-engined sports car, also known as the "VW Porsche", were the very long wheelbase for the vehicle length, short overhangs, the removable roof centre section made of fibreglass-reinforced plastic and the wide safety bar. Derided as the "people's Porsche" due to its ambiguous positioning between VW and Porsche, the compact speedster was denied great commercial success, which makes it all the rarer today as a classic car. This Targa was delivered in the USA in 1972. It was restored to a sound basis around five years ago. With a registered displacement of 1. 8 litres and two Weber carburettors, paired with the 5-speed gearbox, it is once again an agile cornering predator that is also suitable for long tours thanks to two spacious luggage compartments. The Porsche 914 is in a very well-kept condition and drives superbly. If we have aroused your interest in this rare example, please do not hesitate to contact us. The vehicle can be viewed in our showroom by prior appointment. We will be happy to answer any further questions you may have.
