Description
This is an honest example of the Land Rover Series IIA, which has covered fewer than 3, 000 miles since 2006. During the seller’s 10-year care, it has been dry stored and only used very rarely and solely in the sunshine. Only offered for sale reluctantly due to restriction in space, examples like this are becoming increasingly scarce, with many being ‘over-restored’ rather than preserved. This trusty vehicle is now ready to be driven and will no doubt continue to be a reliable working companion or a fine addition to a collection of classics. Praised by the seller for running and driving well, it would make a solid basis for a more comprehensive restoration, or simply a characterful and very usable companion for any classic Land Rover enthusiast.
A rugged and dependable all-terrain icon, fitted with a practical hard top, and offered in very usable condition.
Under the bonnet sits a replacement 2. 5-litre diesel engine, driving all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
This Land Rover was partially restored less than 1, 300 miles ago. The car is said to have previously been resprayed and it was partially restored by John Brown Land Rover prior to a change of ownership in 2012.
The paintwork is reported to be in fair to poor condition, with some obvious defects and blemishes in the finish as shown, including some chips and scuffs, indentations and some areas of corrosion.
Inside, the cabin upholstery is in fair order, with some tears on the seats, and general ‘patina’ visible throughout the interior.
The seller is not aware of any electrical or mechanical faults.
Due to its age, the vehicle is now exempt from mandatory MOT testing, as well as vehicle excise duty.
Since 2006, the car has covered less than 3, 000 miles, and has only been used in dry weather. The seller reports that the Land Rover runs and drives well for its age.
