Description
VW Scirocco GT 1. 8
A very original manual Mk2 Scirocco with a lot of history and only 60, 361 miles. First registered in February 1989 to Coopers and Lybrand for the use of their employee M Lane, who then acquired it himself in 1993 and kept it until 2008. A S Ferguson then acquired the car in June 2008. The road tax expired in August 2008 (that tax disc is present) and the car then appears to have been off the road until B Blanchard acquired it in May 2012 who then serviced and MOT’d it in November 2012. I then subsequently bought it off him in January 2013 and am therefore the 5th registered owner.
In the 12 years or so I’ve owned the car its only done about 4000 miles and I’ve barely used it in the last 8 months hence I think its time to sell.
When I first bought it, the engine did need work and I had the cylinder head skimmed and all associated work completed (invoice is present). I also had the timing belt done in October 2017 at 57770 miles. It’s been regularly serviced and runs very well. It comes with all the original manuals and service books plus many old MOT’s, service records and misc. invoices backing up its history. Current MOT expires on the 15th November 2025. Three keys present. In January 2022 I finally got rid of the original stereo (it wasn’t working) and got a modern Alpine CD / DAB radio fitted with new speakers all round (invoice and guide present). Its records and the originality of this car was what made me buy it in the first place, all the bits and bobs are there, all the wheel nut covers as an example.
It’s been garaged since I’ve owned it and is in very good condition with only a few blemishes and no noticeable rust.
