Originally purchased in Spain, this 1965 Volkswagen Type 1 "Beetle" sedan still bears its original and quite unique Spanish number plates. It has had two known owners from the same family Declared as a period restoration with a new interior and good working order, the car has the original Spanish documentation The engine is original to the car and is in "perfect working order". Starts quite well for a 65 car, holds the battery charge correctly. Occasionally a small drop of engine oil is noticed, but nothing abnormal for the car and engine. The electrical system has been modified, from 6V to 12V. As for the burgundy red exterior finish, the paint quality is starting to fade. It is an older paint, so it shows the general wear and tear of time. It has various bodywork imperfections, the paint is starting to crack, there is no sign of leaks inside the car, but some seals are in better condition than others, apart from the somewhat cracked condition of the window seals. The car has spent most of its existence in a garage (except for the last two years )It has a small bump on the lower right hand side of the rear. It has a burnt out headlight. The turn signals have recently stopped working, they may just need a small adjustment, as does the driver's door lock. The interior has been nicely covered in beige vinyl, which would not have been standard. The instrumentation is said to work as intended and retains the original radio even if it does not work. The windscreen wiper water also does not work, the engine has not been changed, it is still the original. Window and door locks work as expected No problems are attributed to the steel wheels or chrome hubcaps, even if they start to rust. Steering is said to be "perfect". The rims and shock absorbers are considered "all good", the latter having been changed recently. The car brakes as it should, the brake system has recently been overhauled.
