Description

An often used line I know, but I had no intention of selling this car just yet as you will see by the work i've done on it. But storage and a new business venture means a new custodian is required.
Specification:
1957 MGA 1500 RHD Coupe: Full and detailed history ( including photos) from the car's full, body off restoration in the early 1990's when the engine was upgraded by Oselli ( Oxford Engine Services then at Osney Mead in Oxford) to 'stage 2' specification (All invoices and parts lists are in the history). The car has covered approx 6000 miles in that time, I purchased it from a local MG specialist, it was his own car, serviced each year he covered a tiny milage in his ownership. ( verification on the DVLA MOT check ).
Since buying the car from Steve I have fitted telescopic rear dampers ( fully reversible ), Had the original steel wheels shot blasted and powder coated, fitted 4 period correct Michelin XZX's from Vintage Tyres. I have also fitted a Manifow rear exhaust box for slightly more 'throaty' note. The rear over riders and original number plate mount have been removed to create a 'cleaner' look, every thing is immediately reversible and all the parts will come with the car including a crome badge bar and a chrome luggage rack. The interior is exceptional, I have had extra lumber support fitted in the original seats and fitted a smaller wood rimmed steering wheel ( the original will come with the car. ) . The car is fitted with its original Lucas dring / Fog lamps. The car has electronic ignition and a bespoke fit Revotec radiator cooling fan ( both modifications are reversible if required. I fitted a replacement TRW master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, brake slave cylinders and braided hydraulic hoses along, fitting the system with silcone brake/ clutch fluid. This car has wanted for nothing, it is an original RHD UK supplied car in its original colour scheme, wearing its original registration number. I'm a huge fan of 50's MG's and also the proud custodian of a ZB and an MGA convertible. I have always coveted a coupe, thinking it one of prettest cars of the period, possible since. This is a car I had no intention of selling, but a move and new business venture has put pay to that. I waited a very long time to aquire this from a local MG restorer, it was his personnal car, serviced every year and in which he did very few miles, he had himself purchased it from a customer he had looked after since the car was comprehensively restored in the early 90's ( and with every bill from the early 90's ). I have done further work on the car to get it to a really high standard, not concours but really rather good. MGAs are exception sports cars, extremely pretty, no vices, neutral handling and with the right tyres and pressures extremely easy to drive, of the classics we own it is my wifes favourite to drive ( and often is ). The specification and history of this car is vast and it comes with its original (and transferable if you are that way inclined ) registration number TTR 65.
